Federal direct loans and private education loans are the most common means to cover the cost of a second bachelor’s degree program like the ABSN.

Students in the ABSN program do not qualify for typical institutional grants and scholarships offered to traditional undergraduates.

Bushnell Nursing Tuition Grant

The Lane Community Health Council has partnered with Bushnell University to address the ongoing nursing shortage in our region and increase diverse representation in healthcare.

Eligible students in Bushnell’s ABSN program can now apply to receive awards of up to $21,000 ($7,000 per semester) toward tuition costs. Learn more.

Bushnell Nursing Scholarships

Through generous donations to the University, various scholarship funds have been set up.  Current and incoming RN-BSN and Accelerated BSN (ABSN) students are eligible to apply online each year for awards from any of the endowed nursing funds. Learn more.

Private Loans

Federal student loan resources are limited and many students find it necessary to secure additional financing.  Students seeking to borrow additional funds may wish to consider borrowing from a private lender. This loan requires a credit check and often a cosigner. You may borrow up to the cost of attendance minus any other financial aid received. Interest rates can be variable or fixed and other rates, terms, and conditions will vary by lender. We encourage you to shop around for the best loan to fit your needs.
