Beacon ATHLETICS

At Bushnell University, our focus is on developing the whole athlete; in competition, in the classroom, and as Champions of Character.

We are a Christ-centered athletic department and He is central in everything we do. Above all else, we desire to give student-athletes the opportunity to forward their progress toward achieving a maturing identity in Christ. By encouraging the pursuit of excellence in the classroom and on the field of play, we desire for our students to honor the gospel of Christ.

As a member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, Bushnell University is affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

17 VARSITY SPORTS

The Bushnell University athletic program, which began in the late 1950’s, offers 17 sports as a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Cascade Collegiate Conference. At Bushnell, our focus is on developing the Tri-Athlete with equal emphasis on growth academically, athletically, and in character.

Bushnell has a long history of athletic success. The men’s basketball team has won eight national championships at the small college level and other teams have qualified for national championship tournaments. The Women’s Cross Country team took home the 2015 NAIA National Championship, and Bushnell teams have won eight Cascade Conference Championships and qualified for 19 NAIA National Tournament appearances.

The Bushnell Athletic Department’s focus is on developing unity through Christ among our teams and all student-athletes. Faith, just like sports, is not a “solo” effort, but is meant to flourish in a community that will uphold and strengthen one another through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Through a multitude of service opportunities, we attempt to equip student-athletes to have a positive influence on their community both now and in the future. We exist so that every Beacon may be equipped to make a difference for Christ during their years at Bushnell and as a servant of the Lord wherever that might lead.
