  • Meet Bailey Will! 💡

Bailey is a sophomore from Bend, Oregon and is an IDS (Interdisciplinary studies) major in music, bible and theology, and psychology. Around campus Bailey works for Campus Ministry, the honors program, and is a student mentor.

A fun fact about Bailey is that she has 10 tattoos which are all rooted in her faith. Whether it’s a personal story or a reminder of who God is, they all are testimonies or ways He has shown up in her life. Her hobbies include hiking, reading, and worship nights.

Bailey's favorite thing about Bushnell is the community you gain, because it will always feel like family.

Bailey's advice is to "take advantage of the community and opportunities the Lord will put in front of you, it can be daunting at first, but allow yourself to grow in the uncomfortable and embrace the season you are walking in."

Senior music major Stephanie Sterling completed her fall internship with Soaring by the Sea Foundation, a Eugene-based nonprofit dedicated to preserving military heritage, honoring veterans, and educating future generations!

Drawn to the organization’s mission and the opportunity to work in a unique historical setting, Stephanie gained insight into aviation history, nonprofit operations, and community engagement. Having the chance to work within a hanger filled with actively preserved World War memorabilia gave her a deeper appreciation for the past and a passion for history.

Through her internship, Stephanie learned the importance of communication with a variety of audiences through opportunities in event planning, with decorating and performing for events, and engaging with the public at airshows alongside war reenactors. Additionally, she learned to express her ideas clearly and confidently. Whether networking with professionals or working on projects to support the foundation’s mission, she found that effective communication was key to making an impact.

Reflecting on her positive internship experience, Stephanie advises, “For students who are looking for their internships right now and have no idea what they’re going do, don’t just settle for the first thing you can find or put it off to the last minute,” she advised. “I would encourage you to go out there and find something that you’re really excited about, even if it feels like it’s kind of a far stretch from what you’re studying.”
