Bushnell University is now at Umpqua Community College

Bushnell University and Umpqua Community College have collaborated to create a streamlined pathway for UCC students to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Psychology—without leaving Roseburg.

Psychology Offering

We are no longer accepting new applications for the psychology program at this location.

Upon completing their AAOT at Umpqua Community College, students can pursue a bachelor of science degree in psychology. Bushnell faculty teach live, in-person evening courses at the UCC campus, providing students the same high-quality instruction they’d get attending classes at Bushnell. The first of its kind for Douglas County, this partnership gives students the benefits of live classroom participation to finish their degree without the commute to another campus. Hybrid learning modalities, with some courses live and some online, will also be available.

Benefits and Graduate Outcomes

The Bachelor of Science degree in psychology prepares students for careers in mental health, counseling, community development, and social services. With current staffing shortages in the medical field and increased demand for mental health services, UCC students have the opportunity to meet needs in their community immediately upon graduating.

The Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health (CMHC) prepares students for careers in providing therapeutic support, counseling, community intervention, and social service leadership. Graduates of the CMHC program meet the academic standards leading to Oregon licensure as a professional counselor (LPC).

Students in these programs can participate in research practicums, internships, and a senior capstone project in their local community, giving them valuable experience to prepare them for the next stage in their education or career.
