What Is an Endowed Scholarship?
An endowed scholarship is a lasting investment in the lives of Bushnell students. Gifts to an endowment are invested to generate annual scholarship support while preserving the principal, creating a sustainable source of funding that benefits students year after year.
Endowed scholarships can be established in your name or created to honor a loved one, family member, mentor, faculty member, or organization. Donors can decide which programs or students benefit from these funds. Through an endowed scholarship, your values and generosity continue making an impact long into the future.
Establishing Your Scholarship
Creating an endowed scholarship at Bushnell is a meaningful and flexible process.
Endowment Minimum: $30,000
Your gift may be funded through:
- Cash gifts
- Appreciated securities
- Real estate
- Multi-year pledges (up to five years)
Once established, additional contributions may be made at any time by you, your family, friends, or other supporters.

*All endowment funds are professionally invested among diverse asset classes with a goal of producing above-average, long-term returns with acceptable risk limits. The University spends approximately 4.5-5% of the total endowment value annually, based on an established endowment spending policy as governed by the University’s Board of Trustees.
