Dr. Kelly Ballard arrived at Bushnell University in 2021. In addition to overseeing the School of Music and Performing Arts, he teaches vocal and instrumental performance groups, worship, and general music. While his primary instrument is voice, he is ‘functionally proficient’ in piano, guitar, and bass. Kelly brings a pastoral background to teaching and hopes that each class taught in the department will be ‘the best 50 minutes of a student’s week.’ He received the 2014 Steven Kendall Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching at Warner Pacific University.
Kelly has visited 49 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, Asia, and Africa as a performer, consultant, speaker, and worship leader. Kelly enjoys water skiing, reading, writing, running, and travel. He is married to Frayne and they have raised three fantastic sons and celebrate their two daughters-in-law.
