Bushnell University Recognized as Military Friendly School

Eugene, Ore. – Bushnell University is proud to announce its designation as a Military Friendly School for the 2023-24 Military Friendly Cycle. This recognition reaffirms the university’s commitment to supporting military service members, veterans, and their families in pursuing their educational goals.

Institutions earning the Military Friendly ® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2023-2024 survey with 665 earning special awards for going above the standard. The 2023-2024 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

The methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory, a marketing company that supports recruiting and promoting the military community, with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

The Military Friendly® standards “provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the military community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages colleges to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools that achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard,” according to Kayla Lopez, National Director of Military Partnerships, Military Friendly®.

Mary Jo Goosmann, Registrar at Bushnell University, expressed her enthusiasm toward the designation, stating, “We are honored to be recognized as a Military Friendly School. At Bushnell, we strive to provide a personal, welcoming, and supportive environment for our military-affiliated students. We care for our students and are proud to empower them with the tools they need to succeed both academically and in their future careers.”

The Military Friendly designation is a testament to Bushnell University’s dedication to fostering an inclusive campus community and providing exceptional educational opportunities for those who have served our nation.
