Bushnell University Welcomes DeLeesa Meashintubby as 2023 Commencement Speaker

DeLeesa Meashintubby Executive Director of Volunteers in Medicine, Pastor at St. Marks CME Church, and Bushnell Board Member will deliver Commencement Address

Eugene, Ore.—Bushnell University’s Board of Trustees will confer 84 baccalaureate degrees, 31 master’s degrees, and 4 graduate certificates during its Spring Commencement on Saturday May 13, 2023, at 10 am in the Morse Center located at the corner of Alder Street and East 11th Avenue.

Bushnell Trustee, DeLeesa Meachintubby will deliver the commencement address. Other details and a digital copy of the commencement program can be found here. 

DeLeesa Meashintubby is the executive director of Volunteers in Medicine of Lane County, an organization that provides free, comprehensive health care to low-income, underserved adults. She also serves as the pastor of St. Mark’s CME Church. DeLeesa is chair of Sacred Heart Medical Center’s Community Health Board and sits on other numerous boards including Bushnell University, Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Cascade Credit Union, Pearl Buck Center, Shelter Care, United Way of Lane County, and Strides for Justice. In 2019 she was named Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce’s Woman of the year and was the recipient of the prestigious Eugene’s First Citizen Award for 2022. DeLeesa and husband, Norval, are parents to three children, two bonus daughters, and have one grandson.

Commencement will be live streamed on Saturday, May 13, beginning at 10 am at https://live.bushnell.edu/. Vehicle parking is available in the Morse Center parking lot, Womack Hall parking lot, and overflow parking at the University of Oregon’s lot adjacent to the Morse Center across Kincaid Street.
