What inspired you to further your education in business?

I have been inspired by my family and my professors to further my education. Business has been a part of my life in every step of the way and learning more about business is something I couldn’t say no towards. Furthering my education in business has allowed me to be ready for the future and be prepared for what the business world has in store for me.

What impact do you hope to have on the world with business?

I hope to make a lasting impact on others through the business world even if it’s financially or through a connection. Currently, I been having an impact by helping small business that were affected by the pandemic and I want to be part of that change. I hope to leverage the knowledge I learn at Bushnell to make a significant role in helping small business recover from the pandemic.

What excites you most about the field of business?

Through business I can inspire others and be able to make connections that wouldn’t be possible outside of the business world.

Alexa Parks

Program: Clinical Mental Health Counseling

What inspired you to further your education in the counseling field?

My entire life I have been told that I feel things too intensely, and I want to give voice to the positives of being an empath. Growing up, I struggled with my own mental health. I never recognized the true power of counseling/therapy until I was in my last term of my undergrad and met Dan. Dan not only changed, but saved my life as well. I want to pay it forward and become a Dan for someone else. Everyone deserves to know and feel that they have someone in their corner, and I hope to provide that feeling of comfort for my future clients.

What impact do you hope to have on the world by pursuing counseling?

I hope to provide a safe environment for people to feel and process, without having to worry about being judged.

What excites you most about your field of study?

I am most excited about providing people with the knowledge of how to develop healthy coping mechanisms, communication, and relationships.

What inspired you to further your education in this field of study?

It has always been a dream of mine to work in the field of sports. Sports were a big part of my life growing up and have influenced me to succeed at various levels based on the learning experiences I had through playing. Studying sports management will allow me to work in an industry that I am genuinely enthusiastic about.

What impact do you hope to have on the world with sports management?

The impact I want to have on my field of study is to establish a role in ensuring the well-being and development of athletes. Whether it includes managing contracts or providing resources for player development. Aiming to make a positive difference in the world of sports and in the community they serve is important for me to achieve.

What excites you most about the sports management field?

I am most excited about sports management because of my genuine love for sports. Working in an industry that revolves around something I am passionate about can be highly motivating. Sports offer a dynamic and ever-changing work environment. No two days are the same, and this variety can be exciting for me to thrive on challenges and adaptability. The opportunity to shape the future of the sports industry is a major source of excitement.
