About Kecia
Kecia Kirkpatrick joined Bushnell’s School of Nursing in the fall of 2026. Kecia began her nursing journey by earning her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2001 and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing in 2013, with a focus on nursing education. She brings 25 years of diverse nursing experience, including bedside nursing in both hospital and outpatient settings, nursing faculty roles, and nursing leadership through her position as a nurse manager of hospital case management. These roles have provided a strong foundation in clinical practice, education, care coordination, and servant leadership.
Kecia has extensive teaching experience in a pre-licensure nursing program, teaching a variety of courses including health promotion, acute and chronic illness nursing, pathophysiology, and pharmacology. She has also taught clinical nursing skills in both facility and laboratory settings, including the use of simulation in nursing education. Kecia is an accredited Case Manager, and one of her greatest passions is helping future nurses understand the importance of improving access to healthcare and caring for the whole person. She recognizes that health is influenced not only by medical needs but also by emotional, social, spiritual, and environmental factors.
When Kecia is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and nature.
