Corey Anderson Named CCC Athletic Director of the Year

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Cascade Collegiate Conference announced Bushnell University’s Corey Anderson as the 2025-26 CCC Athletic Director of the Year. The award is the conference’s top administrative honor selected by the conference athletic directors.

This marks the second time Anderson has received the honor during his 20-year tenure leading Bushnell Athletics.

“Congratulations to Corey Anderson on this well deserved recognition,” stated CCC Commissioner Robert Cashell. “His passion and love for Bushnell, the Cascade Conference, and the NAIA is evident and all of us throughout the conference are proud to work with such an outstanding individual.”

Anderson continues to demonstrate exceptional leadership as Bushnell’s Athletic Director, guiding a department that exemplifies the NAIA Champions of Character model while achieving outstanding success during the 2025-26 academic year.

Under Anderson’s leadership, Bushnell was named the NAIA School of Character, a national recognition that reflects the culture he has intentionally built over two decades through the integration of the NAIA’s five core values across all athletic programs.

Athletically, Bushnell experienced its most successful fall season since joining the Cascade Collegiate Conference and NAIA, highlighting the continued growth and competitiveness of the department. That momentum is expected to continue with the recent announcement of men’s and women’s wrestling, expanding opportunities for student-athletes while further strengthening Bushnell’s presence within the conference.

Academically, Bushnell continued to set the standard across the CCC. The Beacons earned the CCC President’s Academic Excellence distinction for the 11th consecutive year and remains the only institution to receive the honor every year since its inception. All Bushnell athletic programs were recognized as NAIA Scholar Teams, contributing to an impressive department wide student-athlete GPA of 3.48.

The success reflects Anderson’s commitment to Bushnell’s Tri-Athlete Model, which emphasizes academic achievement, athletic excellence, and character development equally as pillars of the student-athlete experience.

Anderson has also overseen significant facility enhancements through strong community partnerships and strategic planning. During the past year, Bushnell opened its Golf Player Development Center, one of the first facilities of its kind in the NAIA. The department also continued planning for a new wrestling training center that will include locker rooms, an athletic training annex, a fitness center, and baseball batting cages, providing long-term benefits for current and future student-athletes.

His commitment to student-athlete development extends beyond facilities and competition through leadership programming, character education initiatives, and holistic support services designed to prepare students for success long after graduation.

As the longest-tenured athletic director in the Cascade Conference, Anderson continues to make an impact nationally through his service on the NAIA Athletics Directors Association Board, the National Executive Committee, and the NAIA ADvantage program, where he mentors and supports new athletic directors across the association.

Bushnell Athletics continues to thrive under Anderson’s leadership, and his influence reaches far beyond campus through his service to the CCC, the NAIA, and the broader collegiate athletics community.

As the CCC Athletic Director of the Year, Anderson will be moved forward to the NAIA National Athletic Director of the Year ballot.
